Unlike other objects in the database which have all their details contained in a single page, game pages have multiple sub-sections, which sometimes have sub-sub-sections. It's a deep rabbit hole.
Thus, it's worth having an article explaining how game pages are organized.
Layout
Each game page is divided into roughly 5 sections:
Breadcrumbs
The familiar breadcrumbs show the current location in the game page. They also link to the franchise of the game, if it belongs to one, and to the base game, if it's an expansion.
The breadcrumbs bar also contains buttons to add or remove the current game from your wishlist, gamelist, manage playthroughs and edit the game's information.
Header
Contains various basic information about the game, such as genre, theme, release date, cover art, various community statistics, etc. Each item is generally self-explanatory, but three of them aren't very intuitive. They are Average Review Rating, Average Gamelist Score and Approval.
- Average Review Rating is the average of all user-submitted reviews for the game.
- Average Gamelist Score is the average of all scores given to the game in user's gamelists.
- Approval is the percentage of positive opinions in relation to all user-submitted opinions for the game.
Sections Menu
The vertical menu to the left links to all most sub-sections of a game's page, as well as links to external domains related to the game, such as its wikipedia entry or official website.
Sub-sections are grouped into 4 categories for easier reading: Information, Contents, Community and Other. We'll describe each of them at the end of this article.
Contents
The contents of each sub-section are shown to the right of the sections menu.
Footer
Show some internal information about the game. This is most relevant to developers and contributors, otherwise it's mostly just some funny names and numbers. It also contains a link to the change history of the game.
Sub-Sections
As mentioned before, a game's page contains multiple sub-sections, divided into 4 groups. Here's a short description of each sub-section and their groups:
