Campaign mode includes
- Basic Tutorial (6 missions)
- Advanced Tutorial (4 missions)
- Cycle of Destruction campaign (16 missions)

Heroes and technologies acquired in a mission are carried over to the next.

A skirmish mode allowing players to fight against up to 7 other computer-controlled opponents. Player can configure faction (5 choices), team (up to 4), and various settings, such as allowing or not cheats, diplomacy, fog of war, elite units, the difficulty level of the AI and the map, which can be one of the 44 built-in ones or randomly generated (generation can be configured)

LAN	Online

Multiplayer mode behaves exactly like Scenario Mode, allowing multiplayer for up to 8 players (bots can fill empty slots).

Online play might no longer be available due to reliance on the discontinued Gamespy multiplayer services (Direct IP connection might still work).
